The 44th Conference on Stochastic Processes and their Applications (SPA) will be held in Wrocław, Poland, from 14 to 18 July 2025. It is the most prominent international event in 2025 dedicated to the theory and applications of stochastic processes.
SPA conferences are organized annually under the patronage of the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and Probability. The last editions took place in Lisbon (2023), Wuhan (2022), Evanston (2019), and Gothenburg (2018). The Bernoulli Society is a section of the International Statistical Institute (ISI).
The 2025 edition is hosted by the Faculty of Pure and Applied Mathematics of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Wrocław, as represented by Krzysztof Bogdan and Krzysztof Dębicki.
Wrocław has a rich tradition in probability and statistics, shaped by figures such as Hugo Steinhaus, Kazimierz Urbanik, Czesław Ryll-Nardzewski, Witold Klonecki, and Stanisław Trybuła. The journal Probability and Mathematical Statistics, founded in 1980, continues this legacy, supported by the two organizing faculties and affiliated with ISI.
Today, around 100 researchers in Wrocław work in probability, stochastic processes, and statistics. Each year, nearly 500 students and 10–20 PhD students begin their studies in mathematics at WUST and UW. We all look forward to welcoming you to Wrocław! Conference poster - download
