WROCŁAW - THE MEETING PLACE
Wrocław is a vibrant, historic city on the forefront of change in New Europe.
It’s an academic center with 27 institutions of higher education and over 125,000 students. It’s also a dynamic business center with an economy increasingly based on new technologies and innovations. The city’s history is a mishmash of influences that speak of the varied cultural influences on a place that was at different times claimed by Prussia, Austria, Germany and, of course, Poland. Thanks to its history the city has become an open-minded, creative center for international business and culture. International investments and entrepreneurship thrive in Wrocław and Lower Silesia. The region offers a competitive and dynamic setting for prominent foreign investors and leading Polish companies. According to the Association of Business Service Leaders in Poland Wrocław is the most dynamically developing in the business services sector in the years 2008–2010. It shall also be underlined that Wrocław can boast the biggest number of Knowledge Process Outsourcing investments in our country. But the city offers much more than innovative business solutions – it is one of the most rapidly developing cultural centers on the cultural map of Poland and Europe. It was the European Capital of Culture in 2016 and European Best Destination 2018.

OUR TOP ATTRACTIONS IN WROCŁAW:
Market Square and the Old Town
The Market Square is a vibrant centre of city life that offers something for everyone, whether they come for business, tourism, shopping or a splendid meal. Set among charming, colourful buildings, the historic centre of the city is a must-see in Wrocław. During the day the Market Square is crowded with tourists and office workers, but at night it becomes the most vibrant entertainment hotspot in the city. Full of colourful restaurants, clubs and cafes, the Market Square barely goes to sleep at all. The small streets surrounding the Market Square enchant with their beauty and magical atmosphere. Each one is different and has a unique mood. An evening walk in this area can turn into an interesting adventure and a journey through the history of Wrocław. While strolling, you will come across numerous restaurants representing major cuisines of the world that can make you experience even tastier. All in all, this is a place not to be missed!
The Cathedral Island (Ostrów Tumski)
The oldest part of Wrocław, Cathedral Island is situated by the Odra River. This former island and stronghold is full of inspiring architectural monuments. Its gothic buildings overlook the city giving a sense of its rich history. If you are lucky, you can meet there a lighthouse-keeper who walks through the streets of Cathedral Island every summer evening.
Zoo and Africarium
Wrocław boasts the oldest (established in 1865) and largest (in terms of the number of kept animals) zoological garden in Poland. Thanks to the popularity of an old TV show “With a Camera Among the Animals”, it is also the most famous zoo in the country. The Wrocław ZOO, located in a picturesque part of the city, between the always-colourful Szczytnicki Park and the lazy Odra River, constitutes a wildlife counterpoint to the urban life of the city. The zoo’s offer is still expanding. A new attraction, the Africarium, was opened in 2014. This oceanarium presents various ecosystems associated with the water environment of Africa. It is a unique place, well worth seeing because of its numerous aquaria, reservoirs and pools, which display Red Sea coral reef, hippos, freshwater fish of Malawi and Tanganyika lakes and numerous other species. One of the most impressive attractions is the 18-meter long acrylic glass tunnel where visitors can easily watch fish from the underwater perspective.
University of Wrocław
The main building of the University of Wrocław, dominating the cityscape of the Old Town, embodies the elements of Austrian, German, and Polish influences. It is one of the most important Baroque monuments in Europe.
In the mid-17th century, the Jesuits founded their college in Wrocław. In 1702 the Austrian Emperor, Leopold I of Habsburg, established on its basis the university – the Leopold University of the Society of Jesus. In 1741 the construction of the university building, originally planned as a three-wing edifice, was stopped by the outbreak of the Austrian-Prussian war and the city’s takeover by the Prussian king, Frederic II. The symbol of the Austrian influence is the Aula Leopoldina. Today, it has been restored to its full beauty and hosts important academic and official ceremonies.
Hydropolis
Hydropolis is the best place to know everything about water and notice how important it is in our life. The technology, touch screens, and interactive installations will facilitate understanding one of this incredible element!
